Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Australia will participate in a Department of Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development and Communications workshop, 2nd December 2020, representing our members and the recreational and general aviation industry.
The Future of Australia’s Aviation Sector workshop, seeks the industry’s feedback on the effectiveness of the Australian Government’s COVID-19 aviation responses, along with industry’s views and opinions on the recovery plan ahead.
AOPA Australia will advocate the following;
– Need for strong GA business sector stimulus for charter, flight training and maintenance providers
– Need for strong govt investment in aviation apprenticeships and skills resourcing
– Opportunities for govt investment in GA services nationwide, including Australia Post and other govt funded service providers
– Establishment of GA innovation fund / incubator to drive Australian aviation entrepreneurship and growth
– Creation of a strong taxation incentives strategy to attract investment within the GA business and private sectors
– Establishment of a national strategy on airports, encouraging stronger local, state and federal relationships on the management of airports
– How effective CASA reform can help drive post-COVID19 economy
