This years Wings Over Illawarra Airshow proved a huge success for the AOPA Australia ‘Youth Engagement Team’ running activity workshops for over 1,000 eager young participants!

AOPA Australia Youth Ambassador, Michelle O’Hare, and her supporting volunteers were on hand throughout the three day event, providing a range of new interactive hands-on workshops that were designed to educate and encourage youngsters to pursue aviation.

Workshops were structured around basic aviation topics and were delivered in a fun an engaging method using puzzles and games.  On completion, participants were rewarded with AOPA Australia gifts and the opportunity to use the flight simulator systems within the AOPA Australia village exhibition.

The youth engagement activity was an outstanding success, with somewhere between 1,000 to 1,500 young eagles taking part across the three day event.
