It is with greatpleasue that the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Australia warmly welcomes the Sport Aircraft Association of Australia, the Gliding Federation of Australia, the Hang Gliding Federation of Australia and the Aircraft Maintenance Repair Overhaul Business Association and the Cessna 182 Association as key partners to our Junior Pilots initiative in 2019.

On behalf of our membership, I would like to thank each of our new key partners for their investment and support in AOPA Australia Junior Pilots, it is both valued and appreciated. Working together we can have a positive impact on the future of our general aviation industry, by seeking to foster and encourage greater participation by the next generation of aviators.

Our new partnership will further enhance our youth engagement activities by introducing a range of new aviation experiences and hands-on interactions, that will serve to showcase the various sectors of Australia’s general aviation community. These new experiences will compliment our Freedom to Fly Airshow Display Team and Junior Pilots First Flight Experience aircraft.

The partnership brings to AOPA Australia considerable capital investment that will be used to acquire, expand and deploy a range of new interactions including;

  1. Upgrading the digital flight simulator education lab from six to twenty four workstations;
    2. Introduction of a new Pilot Training EFBinformationcentre;
    3. New sport aircraft builders interactive workshop and members information centre;
    4. Aircraft engine interactive display andaircraft maintenance centre;
    5. Interactive 2 seat glider cockpit and members information centre;
    6. Interactive hang-glider display and members information centre; and
    7. BBQ, Coffee Machine and Refrigeration Services.

These new and exciting additions will be supported by a team of dedicated and passionate volunteers, each representing their associations and our industry as a whole.

Again, on behalf of the AOPA Australia membership, I extend a sincere thank you to each of our new partners and look forward to working with them all as we roadshow Junior Pilots throughout 2019.
