The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Australia has been invited to speak at the Annual General Meeting of the Maryborough Aero Club in Victoria, Sunday 1st December 2019 at 1:45pm, to discuss the challenges facing general aviation, AOPA Australia’s advocacy and objectives for 2020.

Maryborough Airport in Victoria was recently reverted back to an ALA, following a decision by the local council to de-register the airfield, seeking to save approx. $150,000 per annum in operating costs.  Local aviators have contested the airport operating expenses and have argued that the de-registration places the airfield at a significant disadvantage and will deter charter operators from seeking to operate into and out of the airport.
