2018 MEMBERS CHOICE AWARD RECIPIENTS
The Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association of Australia is proud to recognise the following receipients for 2018;
Member of the Year – Mr Peter Clisdell
Awarded in recognition of his generous support and commitment to our AOPA Australia Junior Pilots initiative and national membership, through the sponsorship of our transport fuel fund which has enabled our association to directly participate in the largest year of external engagement, helping grow our membership and youth engagement nationwide.
Volunteer of the Year – Mr Karsten Gerarde-Smith
Awarded in recognition of his generous support and commitment to our AOPA Australia Junior Pilots initiative, through his volunteer pilot services, members coach maintenance and servicing, trade-show event and airshow membership support activities.
Director of the Year – Dr Tony Van Der Spek
Awarded in recognition of his 10 years of involvement as an AOPA Australia Director and for his role in helping bring forward medical reform on behalf of all Class 2 medical certificate holders and AOPA Australia members nationwide.
Certified Aircraft of the Year – Cessna 185E, Mr Andrew Biggs
Awarded in recognition of his beautifully restored Cessna 182E.
Sport Aircraft of the Year – Sonnex, Mr Brian Ham
Awarded in recognition of his experimental amateur built Sonnex.
Recreational Aircraft of the Year – Jabiru Aircraft, Ms Sue Woods
Awarded in recognition of 30 years sales and service to the Australian general aviation community.
