The 2019 federal election is set to be an interesting one, with a range of highway billboards starting to appear throughout the federal electorate of Riverina in NSW, home to Deputy Prime Minister the Hon Michael McCormack MP sponsored by AOPA Australia member and prominent aviation campaigner Dick Smith.

The STOP THE LIE, CHANGE THE ACT campaign is calling on the Deputy Prime Minister to take action in amending Australia’s Civil Aviation Act, so as to protect Australia from unnecessary over regulation at the hands of CASA, ensuring affordable safety for the general aviation industry.

The big question is, with all of the issues facing our general aviation community right now, will the Nationals who are in charge of Australia’s transport portfolio stand up for us or will they continue to ignore us?
