Members and industry supporters, it is with pleasure that AOPA Australia announces the launch of our ‘Flying Events’ calendar for 2019.

Our aim is to leverage the experience, goodwill and resources of AOPA Australia members, Aero Clubs and Flying Groups to create and support a national flying events program that encourages group and individual participation, helping drive general aviaiton activity and growth.

This program will consist of marque events such as AusFly, Lilydale Air Show, Birdsville Races, Fun Flight and at least one major Air Safari. An event schedule has been created for the NSW and ACT region.

The aim is for all states and territories to create a similar calendar of events, and in doing so, creating interesting and practical GA experiences, thus enabling AOPA Australia members to keep flying skills current, see spectacular scenery and visit iconic Australian destinations, as well as enjoy the camaraderie of fellow members.

The AOPA Flying Events Team will be led by George Higgins and Chris Muller. Both George (CPL, MECIR, Formation Rating) and Chris (PPL, Night VMC, Formation Rating), are active Sydney based pilots, and come with extensive marketing and technology backgrounds from the IT sector.
