Aminta Hennessy

President of the AOPA Australia Board since 2018, Aminta Hennessy has over 50 years of commercial aviation experience and has been recognised with an Order of Australia in 2005. Aminta was the first Australian female pilot to cross the Atlantic solo in a Piper Warrior VH-IBU and the first woman to fly back-to-back across the Pacific. She has amassed over 19,600 hours in a wide variety of aircraft types, including King Airs and most popular general aviation types. Aminta holds PPL, CPL, MECIR, Instructor Ratings and is a Flight Examiner for CASA, operating a leading flight training school for 40 years.
