South Coast Weekend
Shoalhaven Region – September 28 and 29, 2019
AOPA Australia members, family and friends are invited to the September AOPA Flying Event for 2019 – a weekend in the Jervis Bay area to be held on the weekend of September 28 and 29, 2019. For those that cannot stay overnight, an option could be to come for just the Saturday and Sunday activities.
The airfield to use, for those flying in, is the Jaspers Brush Airfield, home to the South Coast Recreational Flying Club. The AOPA Australia bus will collect participants here and transport them to the Silos Restaurant, Silos Estate Winery for wine tasting and lunch. After lunch it is then on to the Fleet Air Arm Museum at HMAS Albatross, Nowra.
An overnight stay has been arranged at a Huskisson motel, along with a BBQ that evening. The next morning around 10:00 a whale watching cruise has been organised. September and October are considered the best months for whale watching in the Jervis Bay area, since during the Southern migration, mothers and their new born calves often come for rest within the Bay
