Rylstone Celebration of Aviation Day

Rylstone Airpark – Saturday May 18, 2019

AOPA Australia members, family and friends are invited to the AOPA Australia Flying Event for May 2019 – a visit to the Rylstone Airpark for the Rylstone Celebration of Aviation Day event to be held on Saturday May 18 2019. Make it a day trip or combine it with a visit for a few days.

At this well attended annual event with many aircraft drop ins, enthusiasts will find interesting static displays and hangar talks by well known aviation personalities.  There are also aerobatic displays including from the AOPA Australia Freedom to Fly team.  The AOPA Australia bus and stall will also be present.  Food and drink can also be purchased at the venue.  More information on Rylstone airpark can be found at

Pilot and passengers will enjoy the flight to Rylestone, which tracks over the Scenic Blue Mountains and can include views of the Wolgan and Capertee Valleys.  A return flight can easily be done in a day in Piper Warrior or Cessna 172 type aircraft from Sydney as Bankstown to Rylstone is 86 nautical miles direct.  Rylstone has a pair of well maintained grass runways with a minimum length of 800 metres.
